LAUDATO RESPONSE YOUTH INNITIATIVE

Join us in living to promote the greening of our world initiative.

We are a nonprofit Catholic Religious Youth-led initiative in Uganda that promotes the encyclical Laudato Si and Environmental Action to create more sustainable communities.
Our activities and programs are focused on responding to climate change through clubs in institutions that focus on tree planting & green zone creation, climate education, Laudato Si training/seminars, and sustainable environmental projects in institutions. Plant a tree to celebrate any special event in your life and your family’s life.
The growing concern about the ecological crisis prompted the Infinite Laudato Si Response initiative. We were quite sad to witness several environmental abuses in our communities during the Covid-19 lockdown. The changing weather patterns have intensified the sadness and concern due to the increased frequency of extreme weather events like drought, floods, mudslides, social and economic impacts that make communities vulnerable. These also cause a significant threat to the future generation and the livelihood of the poor threatening food security. Reading signs of the time, it was essential to take action.
Climate change threat is also underscored by United Nationals Sustainable Development Goal 13 of Climate Action (Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts) and SDG 15, which talks about Protect, restoring, and promoting sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably managing forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss. It is also engrained in the Catholic Social Teaching, a body of doctrine developed by the Catholic Church on matters of social justice, involving issues of poverty and wealth, economics, work, family life, social organization, the role of the state, and ecological and environmental concerns. Pope Francis further emphasized this when he released his eagerly anticipated encyclical on the environment in June 2015 called Laudato Si.
Vision
To create a Laudato Si responsive and climate change-conscious society through action, attitude, and behavioral change communication.
Mission
To promote the message of the encyclical letter Laudato Si by fostering climate change and ecological crisis awareness in communities through training, information sharing, technical support, media, and Youth talents.
Sustainability
The Sustainability of this initiative is guaranteed because the Infinite Laudato Si Response involves the participation of clubs in institutions, church groups, environmental programs, and people of goodwill who value ecology and Laudato Si. Infinite Laudato Si Response seeks funding from well-wishers for specific institutional or parish projects whose beneficiaries are directly involved in managing their project and partnership to ensure that the work gains are consolidated.
